Happy new year!

Do you make new year’s resolutions or goals?  Why?  Why not?  It’s a very personal subject, I find.

Personally, I love the idea of the new year:  the clean slate, the time to reflect back on the year, to smile at the beautiful synchronicities and successes, and to ponder and learn fromthe things that didn’t work out as planned and the challenges that were (or weren’t) overcome.

2013 manifested a lot of concrete goals for me, but still felt very, very challenging.  In focusing so much on concrete goals, I lost sight of the things that truly feed and nurture me:creativity, inspiration, laughter, raucous spontaneous dancing.  Stuff like that.

So in 2014, while I will still build on the concrete “adult” responsibilities, I also resolve to honor my creativity, my playfulness, my visions and inspirations and connections.

To that end, I’ve joined an “artist cluster” — a 12-week program working through Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way.  I first worked through this book in 1998, and I’m excited for this new journey.

I’m also focusing on GRATITUDE.  Journaling on what I’m grateful for every morning, and making space to see the magic and joyful silliness and serendipity that arrives in everyday life.

What’s up for you in this new cycle around the sun?

If making healthier choices is on your slate, I hope you’ll join me for a class (or 2 or 3) on supporting your health with herbs (see below).  Also, I have a few spaces open for individual consultations – herbs, wellness, or yoga.  Give me a shout if you’re interested.

Happy new year!

(Also, I resolve to survive the Polar Vortex.  Stay warm!!!)
