"There are things you do because they feel right & they may make no sense & they may make no money & it may be the real reason we are here: to love each other & to eat each other's cooking and say it was good." -- B. Andreas

Nutricia Consulting is owned and operated by certified health counselor and professional actor Tricia McCauley. Tricia is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Severe food allergies began Tricia's exploratory journey with food and cooking almost 20 years ago. Allergy tests and medicine did not affect the itchy red hives that attacked her body for hours at a time. Finding alternate foods, learning to cook with brand-new staples, and eventually cutting all gluten, corn, soy, garlic, and canola oil out of her diet, taught Tricia a great deal about self-care and patience, and made her a self-taught expert on dietary transitions. Tricia has worked in the Washington, DC theatre community since 1992 as a performer, producer, and teacher. As an actor, she works onstage at the Washington Stage Guild, the country's premier presenter of the plays of G.B Shaw, as well as in film, commercials, and voiceovers. Tricia is a member of Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild, the professional unions representing, respectively, stage artists and film actors. She has been a respected teacher of theatre for students of all ages since 1993. Tricia's Integrative Nutrition education, her background of dietary exploration, and her theatrical experience give her a unique toolkit. She brings creativity, compassion, humor, and personal understanding to her clients, whether they are undertaking their own dietary transitions, learning to breathe from the diaphragm, or learning their way around the kitchen. Tricia also enjoys gardening, organic farming, traveling, yoga, hanging about with her cat, and playing the mandolin very badly. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science degree in Herbal Medicine at the Tai Sophia Institute. |
